Albet i Noya / Katalonien

Can Vendrell, the vineyard and the brothers Josep Antoni ALBET i Noya is located in the heart of the DO Penedès, a renowned wine region between Barcelona and Tarragona, on Spain's Mediterranean coast. The estate is run by the family since 1903. While previous generations had lease agreements with the Großgrundbeitzer for the lands, the brothers ventured in Twenalter 25 years ago to jump into the cold water. They bought not only the vineyards, they built soon on its own winery in 1980 and made their vineyards to organic farming to. thus were they are the first winery in Spain, which is known to organic viticulture. That organic viticulture positive impact on the quality of wine, and Josep Antoni prove for years. Again and again, they are eager to compete with their products especially against conventionally produced wines and sparkling wines: They participate in a variety of comparison samples and cut these off perfectly. The national and international press is also enthusiastic. In addition to the young wines are elegantly modern and the traditional Classic Series flaschenvergorenen and hand-shaken cavas (Catalan answer to champagne) and Josep Antoni produce extraordinary wines with barrique experimentation and a strong sense of aesthetics. Thus the wines of Collecció series are available in very attractive bottles equipped and labeled with abstract motifs of Catalan artists. Josep Antoni and waited for the first time in 1996 with a Reserva, which demonstrated their skills at the barrel extension on his (temporary) peak.
