Need his vines, as he says, no irrigation. They are "not spoiled" and seek out their nutrients by letting her roots grow deep into the stony earth. Whether it's the smooth, low-acid Chardonnay, Rosé from the idiosyncratic Negramaro grapes, or the selection of Rossi. These are vinified either unmixed Negramaro grapes or spicy, hearty Primitivo. Some Red show their potential in successful blends, such as the DOP Gala Tina Rosso.
The only pity is that the road is so far, because the regional cuisine is quite a delightful companion to the sun-drenched drop from the heel of the boot.

animating & fresh
Pithy, crisp rosato made from short macerated Primitivo. Wild herbs and red redcurrant on the nose, not as fruity as more common rosé wines, rather rather spicy with mouthfeel, rhubarb.
Almost universal at the table.
easy & uncomplicated
Verdeca, old Greek grape variety with 30 % Fiano, gentle acidity, ripe pear and a little aromatic dried fruit, more spicy-aromatic than fruity.
strong & full-bodied
Plum-spicy, aromatic, a real Primitivo. Fruity and spicy, berries and cloves. Cowardly fruit without any disturbing cooked or
marmalade flavours. Goes well with game dishes, oven vegetables, hard cheeses.
